Village Economic Empowerment (VEE) Kenya recently held its 2025 Annual Leadership Training at Marimanti Resort, Tharaka Nithi County. This three-day seminar brought together a diverse group of men and women, all united by a shared commitment to transformative leadership and community development.
The training focused on equipping participants with leadership skills rooted in generosity, inspired by Tim Keller’s teachings on unconditional giving. Participants were assigned to groups based on their leadership interests and passions, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
One of the core focuses of the training was to empower women, offering them insights into the responsibilities and sacrifices of leadership. Through interactive sessions, the women learned practical leadership skills and how to navigate challenges with resilience
A highlight of the training was the SPEC seminar, which explored the philosophy of generosity. Participants learned about the concept of giving without expectation, with teachings from Tim Keller and the story of the ‘Handful of Rice’ practice from the Mizo

Spiritual Empowerment provides a foundation of faith and purpose, offering a source of inner strength. Personal Empowerment focuses on equipping individuals with the mindset and skills to thrive. Economic Empowerment introduces sustainable income opportunities, teaching financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Community Empowerment brings it all together, creating a network of support where members uplift one another
As we progressed to other sides of Marimanti where the main project for the group
for the group was taking place, we encountered bad road bushy and remote environment that really confirmed to us we were in the right place to bring development where it really was needed

Beyond leadership training, VEE Kenya is making a tangible impact in Marimanti through three major projects:
VEE Kenya has introduced high-yield dairy goats, which are bred and distributed among local families. This project not only provides nutritional benefits but also offers a sustainable income source.

VEE Kenya is cultivating medicinal herbal plants, aiming to promote health and wellness within the community
