Public Hygiene, Sanitation, and Nutrition

Building Healthy Foundations for Bright Futures

At Village Economic Empowerment (VEE), we believe that learning doesn’t happen in isolation—it thrives in environments where children feel safe, healthy, and cared for. Recognizing the link between hygiene, nutrition, and education, we have taken bold steps to create schools that nurture both body and mind.

Our Approach: Investing in Health and Dignity

Sanitation and Hygiene Infrastructure
Poor sanitation is a major barrier to children’s education and overall health. To address this, we have:

  • Constructed modern, gender-sensitive toilets at Osiligi Primary School, ensuring privacy, dignity, and safety for all students, especially girls.
  • Installed handwashing stations to promote daily hygiene practices and prevent the spread of disease.
  • Educated students on sanitation and hygiene habits through school health clubs and awareness campaigns.

School Feeding Program
Hunger should never be a barrier to learning. Our feeding program provides:

  • A nutritious daily meal to all enrolled students, reducing absenteeism caused by hunger.
  • Locally sourced food supplies, supporting community farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Nutrition education, teaching children about healthy eating habits and the importance of balanced diets.
