Who We Are
Village Economic Empowerment (VEE) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2012 with a passionate commitment to empower marginalized and vulnerable communities in Kenya. We believe that true empowerment is holistic—nurturing not just the economic needs of individuals and families, but also their spiritual, personal, and communal growth.
At VEE, our work is deeply rooted in communities, guided by local leadership, and sustained through long-term partnerships. Our aim is not just to intervene, but to inspire independence, self-reliance, and dignity among the people we serve.
To empower and restore dignity to marginalized and vulnerable communities within villages.
Our Vision
What Make Us Different

Community-First Approach
We believe lasting transformation begins with those closest to the challenges. All our programs are community-led and tailored to real, local needs. We empower villages to design their own solutions, ensuring ownership and sustainability.

Holistic Empowerment – The SPEC Model
Unlike most organizations that focus on a single sector, we use the SPEC framework—Spiritual, Personal, Economic, and Community empowerment. This integrated approach transforms the whole person and their entire community.

Grassroots Leadership Structure
Our governance model is built from the ground up. Every project is guided by community-elected leaders, ensuring transparency, accountability, and relevance in every decision made.

Sustainable Development, Not Dependency
We don’t just give—we build capacity. From training local farmers in organic techniques to forming savings groups and cooperatives, we help communities generate their own income and grow from within.

The SPEC Framework
We empower communities through a SPEC model:
- Spiritual Empowerment – Encouraging values, hope, and community ethics.
- Personal Empowerment – Building confidence, awareness, and leadership capacity.
- Economic Empowerment – Promoting entrepreneurship, savings groups, and job creation.
- Community Empowerment – Strengthening governance, inclusivity, and sustainability at the grassroots level.
Three-Layer Resource Mobilization Strategy
At Village Economic Empowerment (VEE), sustaining and scaling impact requires a thoughtful, collaborative approach.
We use a Three-Layer Resource Mobilization Strategy to engage partners at every level—ensuring targeted, meaningful change that lasts.

What We Do
We work to eliminate illiteracy by promoting early childhood education and supporting under-resourced schools. We’ve built a preschool in Osiligi (Kajiado County) and partnered with over 10 schools to provide learning materials and cover tuition for children in need.
🏫 Education
We host mobile clinics, health education workshops, and hygiene campaigns. We help vulnerable families access affordable health insurance, focusing on preventive care and nutrition.
🏥 Health
We support over 500 farmers with organic farming practices, modern techniques, and climate-smart agriculture. Our community-based agronomists promote sustainable food systems and increased yields.
🌾 Food Security
We train communities on hygiene best practices and implement WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) projects. This includes latrine construction, water reclamation, and food preservation guidance.
🚰 Public Hygiene, Sanitation & Nutrition
We promote financial inclusion through savings groups (table banking), SACCOs, and financial literacy programs. These initiatives enable communities to build capital, access credit, and start small businesses.
